Reacting IG Wala objected to such unilateral pardon by the president-elect as he recently promised in a statement that “Jonahan has nothing to fear,” saying that such pardon was not constitutional and not a right of the president-elect to grant but only a decision to be made by the people wh0 voted Buhari into power. Mr Wala said, “Whose decision is it to probe the past leaders, is it the President Elect or it’s about what the law says?
We Must Take Responsibility For Our Actions.”

In essence General Muhammad Buhari pardoning president Jonathan and any of his appointees without the consent of the citizens of Nigeria who elected him will be dictatorial.
