Chairman of Silverbird Group, Mr Ben Murray-Bruce, has joined other aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest the senatorial seat for Bayelsa East in the 2015 elections.
Murray-Bruce will be contending with Senator Barigha Amange and Clever Ikispo for the senatorial seat.
The former Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), submitted his nomination form yesterday at the party’s secretariat in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Addressing supporters from the three local government areas that formed the senatorial district (Brass, Ogbia and Nembe), Murray-Bruce promised to fight poverty through appropriate legislation.
“I am running for the Senate because I am interested in making changes. I am not interested in business as usual. Many things have gone wrong in the country and a lot of them can be traced in the chamber. If we fix these problems, we fix the Nigerian problem,” Bruce said.
