President Jonathan

Dec. 16, 2013

President Goodluck Jonathan has stated that Nigeria does not belong to any politician or group of politicians.

The president said this testerday at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Abuja, where he attended his Christmas church service along with his family members and some government officials.

Even though, he did not mention in his speech the name of Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, it was obvious the President was referring him in respect to his open letter weeks ago and to others making statements and writing untoward open letter.

Jonathan said; “At this time especially we politicians, that we think we own this country and begin to think about next election, doing what we ought not to do, making statements we ought not to make and letters we suppose not to write”

“I call on clergymen and statesmen who really own this country because this country belong to our statesmen, traditional and religous leaders, our men, our women and our youths. Nigeria does not belong to any politician or group of politicians. So we continue to urge you to pray for this country” Jonathan said,

It should be recalled that House of Representative, Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido, Rivers state governor, Chibuike Ameachi, former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the All Progressive Congress, APC have all recently made and written alarming and inflammatory statements and letters against the President recently.
