Yero Commends Peaceful Elections, Calls For Peace

Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has commended the peaceful conduct of the governorship election in the state.

He  call on all citizens to shun violence and remain peaceful throughout the voting process.

Speaking shortly after casting his vote at Kaura Ward in Zaria, the Governor described the peaceful electioneering process in the state as a demonstration of the democratic maturity of the people.

“we are happy that majority of our people have embraced democracy as preferred system of governance and we shall continue to encourage them through responsible leadership.”

Yero said with the peaceful conduct of the 2015 general elections “Our country has clearly crossed the stage of irreversible democratic evolution.

 In the coming years, we hope to continue to improve on all identified lapses in order to become a model for other African countries.

”Governor reiterated his call on people in the state to continue to forge greater unity in moving the state forward irrespective of perceived differences adding that

“our challenges have no regards to human dichotomies.”

Yero called on all citizens to patiently wait to exercise their civic duties of voting inspite of hitches that they may be faced while also calling on them to remain calm and law abiding during and after the elections.

The governor was accredited at exactly 11:24am and subsequently voted at 2:54pm at Kwankira Polling unit at Kaura Ward, Zaria local government area.
