We have received accurate information that the NNPC is offering massive sums of hard currency to bribe the Committee on Finance 11 members to claim the incomplete report is complete and squash the misappropriation case against Diezani Maduekwe, Nigeria’s petroleum minister.
Though the committee members are to wait for the forensic report, according to our credible sources the NNPC is pressuring for the case to be dismissed even before the report comes out. 6 of the 11 members have already signed as at the time we obtained this information.
It can be recalled that at the end of May, there was a preempted release claiming the committee had cleared the oil minister popularly referred to as the untouchable ‘oil goddess,’ in the global scandal of the missing $20 billion in just 18 months reviewed. Later this premature declaration was declared false.
