The Kaduna State government (PDP) yesterday said it was deeply saddened by a false report which purportedly emerged from some unidentified security agents saying that Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero was aware of the recent suicide bid targeted at General Muhammadu Buhari and Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.
Media reports said the governor was informed about terrorists’ plan to carry out suicide bombings but ignored it.
The Director General Media and Publicity Ahmed Maiyaki said in a statement: “We are aware of an unfortunate and also erroneous report being circulated to media houses on a purported security report that forewarned Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of the July 23 bombings that occurred in Kaduna metropolis.
While we appreciate efforts being made by security agencies in maintaining law and order in the state, it is however sad that some persons within the services could peddle misinformation and deliberately spread falsehood to media platforms on the sad event.”
The statement said the governor was neither aware of the attacks nor informed by the forces.
