Kukawa Mosques Boko Haram Massacre: Soldiers Did Not Respond, Villagers Tell AlJazeera – NewsRescue.com

The Civilian JTF have reported to Al Jazeera’s Yvonne Ndege that Nigerian soldiers were just 11 kilometers away from Kukawa when Boko Haram struck Wednesday evening killing over 100 worshipers breaking their fast and observing the evening prayers at various Mosques, but the soldiers did not respond to the calls for help.

The report is a recurrent complaint made by people in the Boko Haram ravaged northeast that occurred throughout the previous Jonathan administration and has now continued during the Muhammadu Buhari regime.

Soldiers are called during attacks and sometimes even given advanced notice but refuse to respond till the villagers are massacred and towns burned to the ground.

Nigeria’s president has been criticized for maintaining the same army chiefs who abused and sabotaged the Nigerian army and its response to terror. The UN recently called on the Buhari government to punish the army chiefs, a call he has ignored while he continues to work with them and keep them in charge of the nation’s security.

Damning Amnesty International reports have accused Nigeria’s service chiefs of war crimes.

Boko Haram also killed 48 men and boys in village of Mussaram where they separated them form the women.
