Nigeria Army Kills 40 Boko Haram Bandits In Borno Bushes: Foils Eid Terror Plot

The Nigerian Army has said it killed 40 terrorists when it repelled coordinated attacks by ‘Boko Haram’ insurgents in Bama, Gwoza and Pulka towns in Borno State.

In a statement by acting spokesman of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in the North East, Captain Aliyu Danja, the army foiled attempts of a coordinated attack at the towns on Sunday 13 October.

Captain Aliyu said, “Soldiers of 7 Division in anticipation, successfully repelled all the attacks killing 40 terrorists in the three locations while several others escaped with gunshot wounds.”

“Soldiers also destroyed a pickup vehicle loaded with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) meant for destruction of Bama town during the encounter,” he added.

Aliyu further said the Nigerian Air force in collaboration with ground troops, attacked Boko Haram elements and their assets which was successfully neutralized at Kilani general area.

The Eid-El Kabir prayers were conducted safely by the Muslim faithful in Borno state amidst tight security provided by the Division, the statement said.
