SSS: Latest “Shekau Video is As Fake As It Gets”

The Department of Security Service (DSS), has declared that the recent video purportedly released by the supposed late Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau was fake.

An official who pleaded anonymity had disclosed that the agency made the conclusion after a thorough analysis of the video.

The source said the SSS backed its argument on several grounds, including the fact that Shekauâs previous appearances in previous videos were done in a certain way.

It was deduced that the movement of the purported Shekauâs lips did not synchronise with the words as pronounced, apparently betraying the recorded message, and making it inefficiently manipulated.

Additionally, the attempt to mimmick the leaderâs voice during the opening stanza exposed the impostor as he later reverted to his real voice.

It was also discovered that the intonation was different since Abubakar Shekau does not drawl while talking.

Other differences spotted was that Shekau in previous video appearances would start with a recitation of a full verse of the Quran that sometimes could last up to five minutes, a sequence the stand-in Shekau did not observe.

Continuing, the source said, âThe video was just to create unnecessary panic in the public.

âThe fact is that Abubakar Shekau was truly shot, critically injured and evacuated by his lieutenants to a conventional hospital outside Nigeria. It is only time that will tell if he survived, but what we know now is that, the video is as fake as it gets.â

Suspiciously, only few minutes were released by AFP; “As fake as it gets”
