Damaturu the capital of Yobe is under Boko Haram’s attack right now. The terrorists are reported to have attacked the town from the outskirts close to the Yobe State University.
Damaturu has recurrently come under attack by Boko Haram terrorists who have been unleashing unabating terror across north Nigeria.
Reports are of a fierce battle between the terrorists and state security and civilian vigilante forces around the capital. Boko Haram focused on Adamawa state after their serial loses to capture Maiduguri, capital of Borno.
Update: Idris Ahmed said
“I just made a phone call to Damaturu. I could hear bombs blasting and gun shots. It was too distressing we had to end the conversation.”
Update at 9am: Damaturu is stil under Boko Haram attack. The invasion started at around 5am Monday morning.
